A master's thesis at the University of Basra discussing the founding discourses of political Islam

A master's thesis at the Qurna College of Education at the University of Basra discussed the study of the founding discourses of political Islam - a study in light of critical discourse analysis.

The thesis by researcher Gabriel Alaa dealt with the founding discourses of political Islam in the second half of the twentieth century, choosing two samples for study: the speech of Sayyid Qutb represented by his book “Landstones on the Way” and the speech of Sayyid Khomeini represented by his book “The Islamic Government” in light of a critical analysis of the discourse.

The thesis explained the concept of discourse in the Arab and Western heritages and in linguistic thought, the concept of foundational discourse, the concept of political Islam, the concepts of discourse analysis and critical analysis of it, and how to use neutral sciences in critical analysis of discourse, such as psychology and sociology.
