In a new academic achievement added to its track record, the University of Basra qualified for the final stage of the THE Awards for Higher Education - Arab World 2025, within the theme of "Excellence in Teaching and Education", ahead of more than 2,000 universities from the Arab world.

This award is one of the highest educational awards in the Arab world, and this qualification represents international recognition of the quality of the academic performance of the University of Basra, its excellence in curriculum development, raising the efficiency of faculty, and employing best practises in the university education environment.

The finalists are scheduled to be announced during an official ceremony to be held in the Jordanian capital Amman on November 25, 2025, in the presence of a group of academics and decision makers in the Arab and international higher education sector.

The candidacy of the University of Basra for this axis is a clear evidence of the development of its educational system and its qualitative progress in the standards of the world academic ranking, which reflects its firm commitment to achieving leadership in university education.
