The College of Education in Qurna District at the University of Basra organized a scientific workshop entitled “How to Extract DNA from Cells,” with the participation of a number of graduate students.

The workshop aimed to train students on precise scientific methods for extracting genetic material from blood cells, and to enhance their theoretical and practical knowledge in this field.

The workshop, which was presented by Dr. Anwar Nouri Ayoub, Dr. Hind Adnan Nouri, and teacher Safa Muhammad Hussein, included a theoretical aspect that included an explanation of the components of blood and the functions of its cells, in addition to an overview of the composition of genetic material, its functions, and its locations in the cell, with an explanation of the basic differences between DNA and RNA.
