In alignment with the University of Basra's vision to harmonize educational outcomes with labor market requirements, the College of Education/Al-Qurna, in collaboration with the College of Arts and the Continuing Education Center, has launched a specialized training course titled:

"Translational Approaches in the Oil and Gas Sector: From Arabic to English."

The one-week course covered specialized modules in simultaneous interpretation, the translation of oil contracts and agreements, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) translation. These sessions were conducted by a select group of academics and specialists in the fields of language and translation.

Objectives of the Program:

• Empowering Graduates: Equipping English and Translation department graduates with specialized terminology specific to the oil and gas industry.

• Skill Enhancement: Refining linguistic and professional skills to meet international standards.

• Career Readiness: Enhancing graduates' readiness to work within local and international oil companies.

• Bridging the Gap: Contributing to closing the gap between academic outputs and the actual needs of the labor market.
