The College of Education/Qurna at the University of Basra received the National Assessment Team from the Program Accreditation Council for Educational Group Colleges. This visit comes as part of the follow-up on the Biology Department's application for program accreditation.

The primary purpose of the visit was to review and evaluate the accreditation file submitted by the Biology Department and to conduct an on-site assessment of the department's scientific and educational capabilities. The team conducted field tours that included:

• Lecture halls and scientific laboratories.

• Meetings with several heads of administrative units and departments related to the educational process.

Furthermore, the team inspected the educational and administrative infrastructure, as well as the mechanisms implemented to execute the academic program in alignment with the quality and academic accreditation standards set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This visit is part of the College of Education/Qurna’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education and upgrade its academic programs. These initiatives aim to fulfill program accreditation requirements and develop educational outcomes that effectively meet the needs of society and the labor market.
