An electronic workshop at the College of Education - Qurna on “Nurturing professional ethics on campus”

The College of Education - Qurna at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit and the Continuing Education Unit, organized an educational electronic workshop entitled: “Nurturing Professional Ethics on the University Campus,” on 5/20/2025, with the participation of a number of teachers from Iraqi universities.

The workshop was attended by the teacher, Dr. Muhammad Rashid Muhammad, from the Islamic University, the assistant teacher, Najah Hassan Jassim, from the University of Al-Qadisiyah, the assistant teacher, Zain Al-Abidin Salem Mardan Al-Mayahi, from the College of Education - Qurna, University of Basra, and the assistant teacher, Fadila Qasim Al-Ali, from the College of Education - Qurna, University of Basra, who presented and managed the workshop.

The workshop addressed the importance of consolidating ethical and professional values ​​in higher education institutions, and seeking to enhance the culture of commitment to academic responsibility and respect for regulations and behaviors that preserve the university’s status as an educational and ethical institution.

The workshop aimed to:
 • Educating students, faculty members, and workers about professional ethics on campus.
 • Promoting responsible professional behavior and mutual respect among all university components.
 • Explaining the challenges facing professional ethics and how to deal with them.
 • Introducing university regulations and instructions related to work ethics and behavior.

The workshop recommended several proposals, including:
 • Integrating the concepts of professional ethics into school curricula.
 • Holding periodic training workshops to enhance ethical awareness.
 • Activating university follow-up and discipline units.
 • Encouraging an environment of dialogue and understanding among all members of the university community.

This workshop comes as part of the college’s efforts to enhance an academic environment based on ethics and professionalism, which contributes to improving the quality of education and positive interaction on campus.
