Al-Qurna College of Education at the University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Imam Mahdi in Religious and Literary Thought

The College of Education/Al-Qurna at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar titled "Imam Mahdi in Religious and Islamic Thought and His Influence on Arabic Literature." The seminar was held under the supervision of the Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit, Dr. Fadila Qasim Saleh Al-Ali, in cooperation with the Department of Arabic Language, Imam Al-Kadhim College (Basrah branches), and the Continuing Education Unit, at the college's central hall.

The seminar covered several integrated themes:

• The concept of Imam Mahdi in religious and Islamic thought and the "Idea of the Savior," while explaining the differing perspectives regarding his personality and appearance.

• The presence of Imam Mahdi in ancient and modern Iraqi poetry, highlighting the political, spiritual, and social dimensions of his depiction.

• The role of poetry in consolidating the Mahdist doctrine and disseminating its message within cultural and media consciousness.

Objectives:

The seminar aimed to spread "Mahdist culture" and enhance awareness among college students and staff regarding the role of Arabic literature in addressing ideological and intellectual issues.
