
The Faculty of Education - Qurna organised a literacy course entitled “No to illiteracy” for service employees at the University of Basra
In its efforts to enhance basic skills and achieve educational inclusion, the Faculty of Education - Al-Qurna at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit and the Continuing Education Unit, organised a literacy course entitled “No to Illiteracy” targeting the staff of the college's services.
The course, which lasted for several days, dealt with teaching the basics of the Arabic language in reading and writing, and the principles of arithmetic, in addition to lessons in the recitation of the Holy Quran. It aimed to enable participants to master the alphabet, deal with numbers, and understand everyday expressions circulating in different areas of life such as personal information, shopping, and the working environment.
The course in charge stressed that this program is part of the university's orientations towards empowering all its cadres, and improving their knowledge and linguistic level, in a way that contributes to enhancing their professional performance and community interaction.
