The University of Basra holds a seminar on a taxonomic study of insects associated with wheat grains stored in two ways and at different periods in Basra Governorate.

The Department of Life Sciences at the Qurna College of Education at the University of Basra conducted a taxonomic study of insects associated with wheat grains stored in two ways and at different periods in Basra Governorate.

The study included two axes: the first axis was storing four types of wheat using two storage methods (bags and piles) and three time periods. The results showed that the storage method of bags and the three-month period gave the best results in maintaining the quality of the grains, and the second axis was conducting a survey. Makhzani for the presence of insects associated with stored wheat grains. The study recorded 10 species of insects that were diagnosed externally and anatomically, with the diagnosis of some species confirmed molecularly, in addition to studying biodiversity evidence for the presence of insect species associated with wheat grains in three stations within Basra Governorate.
