Basra University holds a panel discussion on antifungals and alternatives

The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Education / Qurna at the University of Basra held a seminar on the use of antifungals and medical alternatives.

 The seminar in which M.M. Afrah Talib Abdullah lectured aims to identify the most important groups of antifungals used at the present time and to clarify the side effects of excessive and indiscriminate use of them.

 The seminar also dealt with the most important fungal diseases, their classifications, causes and methods of transmission.

 The seminar touched on the use of safe alternatives to antifungals, such as medicinal plants, the study of their effective compounds, and knowledge of their chemical composition using modern technologies such as GC/MSS and HPLC.

 The seminar recommended the importance of accurate diagnosis in the treatment of nurses and not to use treatments randomly without medical advice. It also showed the importance of trending towards the use of alternative medicine in treatment.
