The English Language Department at the College of Education - Al-Qurnah, University of Basra, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Center, organized an applied scientific seminar titled "From Idea to Paper: A Practical Guide to Writing a Scientific Research in English" for fourth-year students. The seminar was held on Monday, December 8, 2025.

The seminar aimed to train the students on preparing their graduation projects in English according to sound academic principles, starting from formulating the research idea and choosing an appropriate title, moving through writing the abstract and introduction, organizing the research methodology, and finally preparing the final version in a solid scientific manner.

The seminar, presented by Assistant Lecturer Zaid Nouri Tahir and Assistant Lecturer Batool Abdul Muhsin Miry, addressed the practical aspects of scientific research writing, including organizational steps, methods for presenting and discussing results, mechanisms of academic documentation, and clarification of the most common errors in academic writing in English, along with providing practical examples and guidelines to ensure student benefit.
