
The College of Education / Qurna organised a seminar entitled (The message of man in life between Islam and the West).
The symposium aimed at four main axes, the first is the age of enlightenment and its vision of man, the second is man in the heroic era of modernity and his position in it, the third is the fluidity of man in the postmodern era, and the fourth was about Islam's vision of man and what is his message in life.
The seminar, in which the teacher, Mr. Sajjad Nayef Abdul Karim, lectured, included the importance of identifying the culture received by us and how to deal with it because it contains a number of things that harm our societies with the possibility of benefiting from them. In the first theme, the deification of man in the Age of Enlightenment and the centrality of the natural material human mind were discussed, and then this matter was applied in the era of modernity. Man considered himself the undisputed master of the universe and had the right to control everything without restriction. Then the era of modernity was touched upon and how man was shocked by the human disaster generated by Western modernity in the First and Second World Wars, and how man came to see his modernist dream faded, and he did not hope that bro
