The College of Education / Al-Qurna at the University of Basra organized an awareness seminar on early detection of breast cancer. The seminar aimed to educate women about breast cancer, its types, and how to detect it early.

The seminar in which each of the lectures included a. M.D. Kawakeb Ibrahim Mohsen Alzubaidi and M. M. Safa Muhammad Hussein and M. M. Fatima Mohsen Badr, three axes represented by the first axis: an introductory introduction to breast cancer, which included the definition of the disease, facts and statistics about the disease, the second axis: represented by identifying the causes of the disease, factors that increase the risk of developing the disease, symptoms of the disease, its types, while the third axis: dealing with methods of early detection of breast cancer, methods of preventing the disease, and methods of treatment of the disease.

The seminar recommended that women should be periodically examined by visiting specialised gynaecologists.
