A book for a teacher at the University of Basra on critical approaches was published in Al-Thaqafa magazine Foreign language analytical study

A lecturer at the College of Education/Qurna at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Zain al-Abidin Salem Mardan al-Mayahi, published a book entitled Critical Methods in the Foreign Culture Magazine, an analytical study.
The book contains 360 pages divided into three chapters

The book dealt with man’s aspiration for knowledge since his inception and began to narrate his aspirations through various means. With the development and advancement of thought, man sought to record his knowledge that he derived from his surroundings, his memory, or the experiences of others through various means of transmitting human knowledge. With the development and advancement of these means, intellectual production swelled. Necessity necessitated the existence of different vessels for cultural intellectual heritage, and among the most important of those media that helped in disseminating various knowledge were magazines and periodicals, which played a major role in communicating diverse knowledge to a large number of knowledge seekers.

The book contains three chapters
The first chapter is entitled (Contextual Methods). The chapter deals with four approaches: the historical approach, the social approach, the psychological approach, and the mythological approach.
The second chapter includes another type of critical curriculum, which is the textual curriculum. It is divided into four approaches:
The formal approach, the stylistic approach, the structural approach, and the semiotic approach.
The third chapter had a different approach in its work, as it included critical efforts that did not fall under contextual or textual approaches. It dealt with methodologies, theories, and strategies that differed in terms of procedures and hypotheses.
