The thesis of student Ayat Karim Odeh Al-Busiri aimed to study identity in the poetry of Abu Firas by reviewing his collections and selecting poems closely related to identity.The dissertation includes the subject of identity and its topics, and is divided into three chapters, headed by an introduction and followed by a conclusion. The introduction was devoted to its title, “Identity, its concept between the philosophical and the literary.” As for the chapters, it dealt with self-reclusion and the crystallization of poetic identity, and societal identity, a study in rituals and patterns, and cultural identity and its stylistic implications. It included several topics on the individuality of the self, self-reflection, the psychology of the poetic self, Arab identity, and national dispersion. The first is the identity of the Rumi other, a struggle to prove the Arab identity, poetic references and crystallization of the self, and dealing with the Shiite doctrine in the poetry of Abu Firas Al-Hamdani. The third topic was acculturation and the identities of the era.

The results showed a definition of identity, its philosophical and literary concept, and community affiliation, as his poems resonated with nationalism and tribal and tribal affiliation, which reflects his loyalty to his state and its emir.
