The University of Basra holds a seminar on (a genetic study on hemoglobinopathies in the regions north of Basra)

The Qurna College of Education at the University of Basra, Department of Life Sciences, held a seminar on (A genetic study on hemoglobinopathies in the regions north of Basra)

For master’s student Iman Salah Jumaa

The study dealt with determining the prevalence of various hemoglobinopathies, including sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and other rare variants, in the targeted northern areas of Basra. Genetic analyzes have also been conducted to identify specific mutations, genotypes, and alleles associated with hemoglobinopathies in the study population. This will include molecular techniques such as DNA sequencing, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and ARMS technology to analyze and document the mutations causing hemoglobinopathies.
