Basra University holds a workshop on the importance of computational chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the College of Education / Qurna at the University of Basra held a workshop on the importance of computational chemistry.

The workshop, which was attended by Prof. Mushtaq Jari Muften and Eng. Ammar Abdul-Jabbar Kazem and M. Ahmed Hamad Aati pointed out the importance of computational chemistry and its importance in calculating chemical and physical properties and the important role of theoretical calculations in its practical application. The workshop also touched on the most important programs used in simulation and theoretical calculations, including CASTEP, DMOL3, and VASP materials studio programs.

The workshop also dealt with the most important properties that can be calculated in the programs, including electrical, optical, magnetic and other properties.

And its applications in the field of clean energy, spin electronics devices, study of polymers, catalysts and nanotubes.

The workshop aims to introduce the importance of computational chemistry and its role in the application of physical and chemical calculations and its importance in discreet scientific publishing.
