Master's thesis at the University of Basra Discussing the poetry of place in the poetry of Abdul Karim Radi Jaafar

A master's thesis in the College of Education / Al-Qurna University of Basra discussed the poetry of the place in the poetry of Abdul Karim Radi Jaafar.

The thesis of the researcher, Ghufran Bakr Ali, included the career of the poet Abdul Karim Radi Jaafar, who is considered one of the important poets in the contemporary poetic movement in Iraq. He is a poet whose first experiences belong to the sixties generation, to emerge clearly in the seventies of the last century and continued his poetic giving until his death in the late second decade of this century. His experience was not limited to poetic creativity only, but he was one of the most prominent contemporary Iraqi critics. He enriched the critical library with studies of paramount importance that made him one of the pillars of our contemporary Iraqi criticism.

It also included the place in the poetry of Abdul Karim Radi Jaafar, because it did not receive an independent study that reveals the aesthetics of using the place in the poetic text.

The letter touched on the familiar place, trying to search for manifestations of the familiarity of the place in the family home, its village, the city of Basra and Iraq in general, as well as places with which the poet dealt with intimacy and love, such as the school, the road, the mother's lap, and others.

The letter dealt with the imagined and underlined place, and it was divided into places of oppression and torment, places of dreams, the island of the jinn, and symbolic mythical places.

The message aims to identify the writers of Iraq and Basra in particular, and their literary and poetic writings, to familiarize researchers with them and benefit from them.
