Professor Dr. Murtada Faraj Al-Helou, an instructor at the College of Education / Qurnah University of Basrah, published a joint research entitled (Prediction of body weight at birth and some body measurements of Iraqi buffalo calves) in the Euro-Asian Journal of Bio-sciences, which is included in Scopes database.This study aimed to predict the body weight of Iraqi buffalo calves at birth through various body measurements such as body length, fore and hind height, and other other measures. The results showed that there were high correlation coefficients between calves' birth weights and different body measurements that were recorded from these calves.The scientific studies and research on buffaloes are few and rare due to the difficulty of dealing with these animals because of their ferocity, so the field of research remains limited to them.
