The Department of Life Sciences was established since the establishment of the faculty of Education Qurna, the university of Basrah in 2011. The life science department grants a bachelor's degree in life science after preparing the students for four years so that graduates can work as teachers in secondary schools, vocational schools, and Iraqi institutes, or complete post-graduation.
