Assistant Lecturers Ahmed Hamad Ati and Mohammed Shafiq, faculty members at the College of Education of Qurna, University of Basrah, published a joint scientific research paper in collaboration with researchers from Al-Mustaqbal University and Peking University. The paper is entitled:

"Dimensionality effects on hydrogen storage performance in MgO-like biphenylene network"

The research was published in the international Journal of Power Sources, issued by Elsevier publishing house, which is classified in the first quartile (Q1) with an Impact Factor (IF) of 8.2.

The study addressed the design and modeling of innovative MgO-like nanostructures resembling biphenylene for hydrogen storage, as well as investigating the impact of various geometric dimensions on storage efficiency. The results demonstrated the potential to achieve a gravimetric storage capacity of 9.09 wt%, alongside a high volumetric capacity in several of the studied structures.

The publication of this research comes within the framework of international scientific cooperation, contributing to the support of specialized research in hydrogen storage technologies, clean energy, and sustainability.
