The College of Education for Pure Sciences / Al-Qurna at the University of Basrah, Department of Life Sciences, discussed a master's thesis entitled "Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Nanoparticles Produced by Types of Natural Honey Against Bacteria Causing Diabetic Foot Infections" by student Rasha Nazim Abdullah.

The thesis addressed the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using two types of natural honey (Sidr and Spring), the characterization of their properties, and the testing of their antibacterial efficacy against a number of bacteria isolated from diabetic foot infection cases, alongside studying their synergistic effect with certain antibiotics. The results demonstrated varying inhibitory effectiveness depending on the type of bacteria and the concentration of the nanoparticles, highlighting their potential for future biological applications.
