A Master's thesis in the College of Education/Al-Qurna at the University of Basrah, titled "Biodiesel Production Using Certain Types of Bacteria and Yeasts Isolated from Local Environments in Basra Governorate," presented by the student Waad Balasim Abd Al-Sada, was discussed.
The study involved evaluating the feasibility of producing microbial biodiesel from the lipids of bacteria and yeasts isolated from extreme environments in Basra Governorate.
The study successfully demonstrated the capability of certain microbial isolates to produce intracellular lipids when cultivated in inducing media. The results showed good conversion efficiency and promising properties for the resulting biodiesel. These findings indicate the potential of relying on microbial oils as an alternative and sustainable source for producing eco-friendly biodiesel
