The College of Education – Al-Qurnah at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit and the Continuing Education Unit, organized an awareness seminar titled (Cyber-Extortion and Counseling Methods), attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students.

The seminar aimed to highlight the dangers of cyber-extortion and its psychological and social impacts, and to clarify the counseling and preventive methods that contribute to reducing this phenomenon, while defining legal and educational ways to deal with it.

The seminar, which featured lectures by Dr. Fadila Saleh and Ms. Marwa Faleh Farhoud, included awareness themes covering the forms of cyber-extortion, ways to prevent it, and the role of psychological and educational counseling in protecting individuals and society, as well as enhancing digital awareness among students.

This seminar comes within the college's activities aimed at spreading community culture and promoting a safe university environment.
