The College of Education – Al-Qurnah at the University of Basra organized an educational lecture titled "Drugs and Their Prohibition in the Qur'an and Sunnah."

The lecture aimed to raise students' awareness of the dangers of drug abuse and to clarify its prohibition based on the legal evidence cited in the Holy Qur'an and the Prophet's Sunnah, in addition to highlighting its health and social consequences that threaten the individual and society.

The lecture, delivered by faculty member Riyadh Abdul Hakeem Hussein, addressed the negative effects of drugs and their destructive impact, presenting the religious evidence that prohibits their use and warns against falling into this scourge. He stressed the importance of continuous awareness to limit their spread among segments of society.
