Teacher Abbas Mohsen Saleh, Head of the English Language Department at the Qurna College of Education - University of Basra, participated in the training workshop held by the British Council in the capital, Baghdad, for heads of English language departments in Iraqi universities.

The workshop aimed to develop and update education programs and curricula in English language departments in colleges of education, within the framework of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the British Council, the United Kingdom body concerned with developing English language education in various countries of the world.

The workshop also focused on strengthening academic cooperation between Iraqi universities and the British Council, developing teaching and scientific research skills in the field of the English language, in addition to exchanging academic experiences and ideas between department heads, which contributes to improving the level of English language teaching in Iraq.
