Master's thesis at the University of Basra to be discussed US presidential speeches related to Iraq from 1990 to 2010: a study in light of critical analysis of the speech.

The Qurna College of Education at the University of Basra/Arabic Language Department discussed a master’s thesis by student Basema Farhan Sahi entitled:
“US presidential speeches related to Iraq from 1990 to 2010: a study in light of critical analysis of the speech.”

The study shed light on the nature of the American presidential discourse related to Iraq during three pivotal eras that included the Second Gulf War in 1991 and the economic blockade, leading to the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and its repercussions until 2010, relying on the critical analysis approach to reveal the ideological and political dimensions inherent in those discourses.

The message aimed to explain the rhetorical strategies used by American presidents, monitor the transformations between their administrations, and highlight the relationship between language and power in shaping policies and formulating public awareness.
