
The College of Education in Qurna at the University of Basra opened a new scientific laboratory, an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) device, in cooperation with Lukoil Oil Company and Basra Oil Company, as part of the social benefits, which aims to enhance students’ capabilities and provide a modern educational environment that supports the practical aspect of the curriculum.
The opening ceremony was held in the presence of the representative of the university president, Dr. Muhannad Hamid Al-Jabri, and a number of faculty members, in addition to representatives of the local government and academic figures.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Ali Darab Shaaban, confirmed: “The opening of this laboratory comes within the college’s plan to develop the infrastructure and improve the educational environment in line with the requirements of quality and academic accreditation,” noting that the laboratory is equipped with modern equipment and technologies that serve different specializations.
Shaaban explained: The laboratory will be used to conduct scientific experiments and practical lessons for students of the college departments, which will enhance their applied skills and contribute to raising their academic level.
