
The College of Education/Al Qurna at the University of Basra, Department of Arabic Language, organized a field visit for the students of the fourth stage to the Al Ain Foundation for Social Welfare in the city district, north of Basra, on the penultimate day of the holy month of Ramadan, under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ali Darb Shaaban.
During the visit, Dr. Ali Darab Shaaban presented gifts and recreational toys to the orphan children. He also gave a speech in which he reviewed the rights of children in building their future, addressing an aspect of correct behavior to overcome the difficulties facing the individual in the educational process as a model of success and ambition. In his speech, he emphasized the humanitarian role of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, in caring for orphans, citing Imam Ali’s will to Imam Hassan, peace be upon them both before his martyrdom, in which he singled out the care of orphans. He also praised the efforts of the Supreme Authority, Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, may he live long, in caring for this important segment of society.
The visit concluded with a field tour inside the organization accompanied by the branch director and a number of its employees, where the delegation learned about the nature of the services provided to orphans and widows, and they were also introduced to the training workshops aimed at empowering and qualifying them professionally.
