The College of Education in Qurna at the University of Basra held a cultural event on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). The event included a theatrical performance entitled “The Greatest Tragedy,” which embodied stages of the life of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and his oppression.

The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by reciting poetic verses expressing the painful affliction, in the presence of a group of professors and students who recalled the biography of the Imam and his immortal exploits.
