
The College of Education / Qurna at the University of Basra organised a symposium entitled (The phenomenon of divorce and its negative impact on society).
The symposium aimed to guide and direct young people to eliminate this phenomenon from a social, economic and psychological perspective, which places a burden on the individual experiencing this issue, and how to avoid such a problem before it arises.
The seminar, in which the assistant lecturer, Fadila Qasim Saleh Al-Ali, lectured, included the importance of family cohesion and its impact on divorce cases, which in turn affect the entire society. The symposium also addressed the most significant reasons for the rising rates of divorce in our society and ways to tackle them.
The seminar recommended the necessity of educating and raising awareness within the community about marital issues and the harms of divorce, developing appropriate solutions to this serious phenomenon that affects families and children in the future, and paying attention to legal and regulatory matters.
