The College of Education / Al-Qurna at the University of Basra organized the third international conference on life sciences and its applications 2024 in the presence of Mr. Assistant President of the University of Basra, Scientific Officer, Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Rashk, and Mr. Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ali Darb Shaaban, and his scientific and administrative assistant, and the heads of the college departments And the mayor of Al-Qurna district, Mr. Abdul Majeed Al-Hassan, and the director of the office of the House of Representatives, Mr. Abbas Badr, and the representative of Lukoil Company, Mr. Hassan Ramadan, and the accompanying delegation, in addition to other figures. 

The conference aimed to advance scientific research and develop knowledge in order to serve the university
and society, exchange scientific expertise
and learn about modern fields of knowledge.The conference included the participation of scientists and professors of life sciences from different universities and in various fields of life sciences such as environmental science, entomology, botany, zoology, microbiology, biotechnology, genetics, molecular biology, and biochemistry.

The conference recommended the importance of working on developing scientific research and its originality in enriching and advancing science.
