The University of Basrah organises a seminar entitled The Role of Women in Protecting Society from the Scourge of Drugs

The College of Education / Qurna at the University of Basra organised a seminar on the role of women in protecting society from the scourge of drugs. The seminar aimed to identify the types of drugs, the symptoms of addiction and its consequences on the individual user and the family. The seminar included lectures by A. M. D. Hasna Amer Mahous and A. M. D. The most prominent reasons leading to the involvement of young people in these harmful manifestations of society were discussed, the most significant of which is family disintegration, highlighting the role of the family in general and the role of the mother in particular in containing children and building their strong sober personalities that serve as intellectual and moral immunity from falling into these prohibitions and other abnormal behaviours. The seminar recommended that women have the greatest role in protecting their children from the scourge of drugs and thus protecting society in general.
