The University of Basra held its solemn ceremony under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, on the occasion of its sixtieth founding on Wednesday, 4/24/2024, amid a ceremony attended by the Governor of Basra, Engineer Asaad Abdul Amir Al-Eidani, and a number of official figures, academics, associates, and students.

       On this occasion, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Adnan Sultan Abdul Nabi, was honored in recognition of his successful leadership and continuous efforts in developing the college’s departments. This honor comes as a well-deserved tribute to the college’s departments’ outstanding performance and excellence in the field of scientific research and education. The President of Basra University also honored the distinguished professor and distinguished supervisor at the Qurna College of Education

  The President of the University of Basra honored Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, Head of the Life Sciences Department, and Assistant Professor Dr. Adnan Badr Ghaleb for his distinguished role in the Life Sciences Department obtaining advanced positions in the national classification of Iraqi universities in the highest ranks, with a score of more than 50% in the national classification over the corresponding departments in the universities. Iraq, where the Life Sciences Department ranked second for the second year in a row.

Professor Dr. Adnan Sultan Abdul Nabi, Dean of the College, praised the distinguished role played by the presidency of the Life Sciences Department and its Quality Division, which culminated in our college obtaining advanced positions in the national classification of Iraqi universities. The second place achieved by the Department of Life Sciences in the national classification among the departments of colleges of education in Iraqi universities is considered a strong indication of the excellence and quality enjoyed by the department. This classification is based on specific criteria such as the quality of the curriculum, the level of teaching and learning, and scientific research.

  Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem stressed that the honor is to motivate teachers and employees at the university to achieve quality and excellence in performance, and to encourage positive competition. He also praised the efforts made by university teachers and employees in serving the educational process of our esteemed university
