The University of Basra was selected among the first 100 international universities in three axes, according to the World University Ranking Innovation

 

 The University of Basra ranked 51-100 globally in three axes, which are the industrial applications axis, the intellectual growth axis for students, and the crisis management axis.

 

 It is noteworthy that the World Universities with Real Impact (WURI) classification is a classification that measures the contributions of global universities with real impacts in society and highlights the creative and innovative methods of university research and educational programs based on six axes, which are the axis of industrial applications, which measures the university's ability to apply industrial research. On the traditional methods of preparing research papers and teaching the type of lectures and the axis of emerging companies and entrepreneurship achieved to serve the community instead of the traditional focus on the number of occupied jobs as well as the axis of social responsibility, ethics and integrity instead of focusing on knowledge and skills only for the sake of material success
