The University of Basra celebrated this evening by being ranked first locally in the list of Iraqi universities and the list of the best 400 universities around the world out of (1591) educational institutions affiliated with the British Times classification, and winning came first locally in the field of (Sustainable Development Projects 2023). Which is one of the most important areas that the United Nations calls for revitalization in societies around the world
On the University of Basra's culmination of this achievement, the President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, said, "This is the third time that the University of Basra has won the British Times ranking, which is one of the important global classifications to know the sobriety of higher education for universities around the world. The victory came As a result of the concerted efforts of all the teams in charge of the department, divisions and units of the international classifications, headed by Dr. Hussein Katea Abdel-Sada, to the cooperation of the deans of the faculties and the brothers in the research teams as well as the units, divisions and departments of quality assurance in our university to the lowest hierarchical ladder in the university, which contributed Together, our university is ranked among the most prestigious scientific centers in international classifications, according to the testimony of the international centers of classification, and not according to a certificate from inside Iraq.
Shaheen added, "We do not forget the continuous support from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and government departments, which allowed us to participate with them in many projects that formed our distinction in the classification, including projects (treatment of pollution), (clean energy), (quality of education) and (fighting poverty). And (water saving and purification) and (elimination of unemployment), we aim to maintain this advanced position in this classification and we realize that maintaining the lead is more difficult than reaching it, and we are just around the corner from entering a more important global classification It is the international (Shanghai) classification
