A lecturer at the College of Education, Qurna, University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Qasim Jassim Athafa, published a research in the Indian Journal of Ecology on the study of the effect of potassium and salicylic acid on the okra plant.  under salt stress conditions.
 The study found results.  Positive in improving vegetative traits, productivity and quality traits.
