The College of Education, Qurna, at the University of Basra, held a panel discussion on the study (biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using some types of soil fungi and studying their antimicrobial effect against some multi-antibiotic resistant bacterial species).
The study included an introductory brief on nanotechnology, nanoparticles, and the production of silver nanoparticles AgNPs from some soil fungi isolated from different regions of Basra Governorate, and the use of AgNPs in inhibiting the growth of some bacterial species that are resistant to multiple antibiotics MDR, as well as against C albicana yeasts, and studying the synergistic action of AgNPs. With the two antibiotics Ampicillin and Chloramiphenicol in inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria tested.
