The Department of Chemistry at the College of Education / Qurna at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Syndicate of Chemists / Basra Branch, held a course on Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA).  Thursday and Saturday 17-19 / 11 / 2022 for students of the fourth stage and graduates from different colleges in the central hall in the College of Education / Qurna.

The workshop dealt with the most important safety methods followed according to the American system and how to deal with and reduce risks.
The workshop also touched on how to deal with fires, the use of fire extinguishers, the method of dealing with hazardous chemicals, and the safety procedures used in work sites.

The course aims to introduce students and graduates to how to deal with dangerous situations, fires and accidents, ways to prevent them, and to spread a culture of safety in general.
And qualifying them to enter the labor market and the different companies operating in the different oil fields.
